Maxi-Cure Water Softener Questions &
Answers
For Well Water Sources
- The Maxi-Cure Water Source
water softener for well water sources, uses
no salt, no chemicals,
and requires little backwashing. It
improves taste and removes odors of drinking water and ice, makes soaps and
detergents go farther, improves plant growth and prevents bathtub ring.
Give your hot water heater, dishwasher and clothes washer a longer life
and save money at the same time.

- What is The Maxi-Cure System & how does it work?
The Maxi-Cure System removes the harmful effects of common water
problems through the use of a 4-step process without the use of chemicals or sodium.
1st Step:
Untreated water enters the system flowing through multiple layers of
filtration reducing the level of chlorine, volatile organics, THMs, off tastes and odors, sediment,
suspended solids, iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide ( rotten egg smell)
2nd Step:
The filtered water passes through a spring-loaded chamber which
creates a small pressure drop. This pressure drop initiates the formation of calcium hardness
crystals.
3rd Step:
The calcium hardness crystals then pass through a catalytic surface
which greatly multiplies the number of crystals. It is the last two steps (pressure drop & catalytic
surface) that sets our patented process apart from similar products.
4th Step: The multitude of calcium crystals pass through a strong magnetic field
which serves to hold the crystals in suspension form for 24 to 72 hours rendering them harmless to your
plumbing & plumbing fixtures. The entire process bonds calcium ions to each other rather than to
your plumbing and plumbing fixtures. A simple damp cloth (if at all) is more than sufficient to remove any
residual mineral deposits rather than the usual abrasives and "elbow grease" that is normally
required. The surface tension of the water is also reduced which results in a higher quality of water absorption into the human
body and plant life.
-
- How is your product different from traditional water softeners?
Most water hardness treatment systems rely on sodium ion exchange
which can have adverse effects to both people and the environment. While ion exchange systems substitute salt
(sodium) for calcium, the Maxi-Cure System transforms dissolved calcium to crystallized calcium.
Calcium in its crystallized state is rendered harmless and free from its objectionable scaling effects.
-
- What is your product used for?
The Maxi-Cure System has several uses. It is primarily used for
residential applications where superior water is desired for both taste and functional use. It is also used for
commercial applications where scale prevention is required, such as; water heater pre-treatment, reverse osmosis
pre-treatment, etc.
-
- How is your product sold?
The Maxi-Cure is sold exclusively through professional water treatment
dealers.
War-A-Lon, Inc works closely with the manufacturer to ensure that the application of the
system is done correctly and that it will work without fail.
-
- What is special about the Maxi-Cure System?
Aside from the Patented Catalytic/Magnetic Process, the Maxi-Cure
System is unique in the following ways:
1. The Maxi-Cure System can be used to treat multiple water problems
within a single system. This can actually create an overall cost savings with the elimination of
additional equipment & replacement components.
2. The effects of water hardness are rendered harmless without the use
of any regenerates like sodium or chemicals.
3. Iron and Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell) problems that often
require the use of potassium permanganate or chlorine is eliminated which means no dangerous chemicals to
handle, store, or purchase.
4. The existence of local bans on soft water equipment or waste water
discharge permits are not an issue with this system.
5. Taste and odor problems are improved so there is no need for
additional drinking water filters.
- What is so important about not using chemicals or sodium in treating
the water?
- 1. You are not spending money on chemicals flushed down the drain.
- 2. You are not ingesting
chemicals from your water.
- 3. You are not adding to the pollution of
our water supplies.
-
- If the Maxi-Cure does not use chemicals or sodium, what does it
use?
Just water! The Maxi-Cure System alters the state of the water - it
does not add anything to it.
-
- How much water does use?
Not much. It will use approximately 30 gallons once per week to
automatically backwash itself. This backwashing process lifts away all the suspended particles that have been captured in the
filter bed and washes them down the drain.
-
- Will the water test soft after the system is installed?
No. Remember that the calcium is still present in the water but in an
altered state. Probably the best way to describe the situation is to imagine a bathtub full of water and in the corner
of the tub are calcium crystals. These crystals can be thought of as little ball-bearings that will not adhere to any
surface that they come in contact with unlike dissolved calcium which adheres to most surfaces after the H2O portion of the
water evaporates.
-
- Won't the calcium crystals revert back to their dissolved state in
my water heater?
Again, the calcium crystals will remain suspended for approx. 24 to 72
hours. Normal water usage indicates that a typical household will turn the hot water over in a correctly sized water
heater at least once per day. This means that the suspended calcium
crystals will be washed down the drain before they have the chance to
revert back to a dissolved state.
-
- If this is such a great product, why isn't every company selling
it?
Other companies are selling magnetic water treatment devices without
the engineering that has gone into our products. These systems are rarely effective and lack the ingenuity of the
Maxi-Cure System. Patent law also protects the Maxi-Cure System
process.
